App Development Process and Timeline

Development Process

The first step of the process is a consultation meeting with the Stova Admin. At this meeting, you will be introduced to app platform, its features, and how it can be used to enhance the event experience of your attendees.

If you decide to pursue development of an app, we will schedule development meetings with your team. Meetings will occur every two weeks up to your event date. Development meetings will use Zoom video conferencing unless you request face-to-face meetings.

Your team will be provided with a demonstration version of the app which you can use to monitor the progress of development, determine preferred settings, and test out features in advance of your app going live (i.e. - appearing on the ASU Special Events app for the public/attendees).

Your team will also be provided with links to two Dropbox folders. One folder contains resource materials for your use. The other folder is for sharing graphics and documents with the Stova Admin.

Since the mobile app can sync with many features of the Stova event registration, there are many aspects the event coordinator can manage within their own event registration. Only the Stova Admin will have access to the mobile app backend.

The event team will also be responsible for producing some graphics for the mobile app, including an event icon and splash screens for various mobile devices.

Timeline

We recommend you begin the development process either three months before your event start date or when you begin development of your event registration site - whichever happens earliest.

Since the app syncs with the Registration site, some of the app features requested may impact design decisions on the registration site. Better to be aware of those impacts before your registration site goes live.

We suggest that your app go live one month before your event so that you have plenty of time to promote the app to your registrants, but the final decision on when to go live is yours.
